Evidenced-Based Therapy for

Adolescents and Adults

Who I serve and how I do it:

Individual Therapy

  • Older Adolescents & College-Aged Young Adults: Specialized support for teens (17+) struggling with how to regulate their emotions, eliminate self-harm as a coping mechanism, reduce anxiety, depression, and improve relationships.   I also work with college-aged young adults as they transition into their new independence while managing anxiety and other emotional issues.
  • Adult Therapy: Comprehensive individual therapy for adults struggling with emotional disturbance, relationship challenges, anxiety disorders, and life transitions.

Parent Coaching

  • Guidance for parents of teens experiencing emotional difficulties
  • Skill development for responding effectively to crisis situations
  • Strategies for creating validating environments while maintaining appropriate boundaries

Specialized Approaches

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):  Learn how to be present, accept difficult thoughts and feelings, and take actions aligned with your values, even when challenged. ACT encourages us to experience our emotions rather than engaging in behaviors that help us hide, distract, or avoid them.
  • SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions): Parents who participate in SPACE will learn skills and tools to help their child overcome anxiety, OCD or related problems.  Treatment focuses on parents learning how to increase support while reducing accommodations which will have a significant impact on their kid/teen/adult child's anxiety disorder.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): As a certified DBT clinician, I now use my DBT expertise to help family members navigate their relationships with someone that has life-threatening behaviors.  I also provide DBT skills coaching to clients that want to learn the "life skills" of DBT to better manage their emotions, handle distress more effectively, and have more rewarding and balanced relationships.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Evidence-based approaches to identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.  We examine how our thoughts can "trick" us into behavioral patterns that actually work against our intended goals.
