MY EDUCATION

For over 30 years, I've had the privilege of working with teens and adults that are seeking a life centered around values, connection, and freedom from misery.

I have worked in both public and private settings including San Diego County Child Protective Services, private schools for emotionally disturbed teens, and Seattle Children's Hospital where I worked as an ER Social Worker.  For the past 10 years, I've worked directly with people in my Redmond office to help them reach their goals in a collaborative, supportive relationship. I believe that any teen or adult can move beyond their own pain and suffering into a life they truly value and enjoy.  I use evidenced-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  I am also trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) which is a parent-based intervention for kid/teens with anxiety disorders.  Please reach out if you'd like information on any of my treatment modalities to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

My passion for helping people began with my undergraduate studies.  After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Fredonia in 1992, I received my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 1994.  I am a Masters level Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) licensed in Washington, New York, and California.  I have been licensed since 2001.

I am a
DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ through Behavioral Tech, LLC in Seattle, WA.  DBT is an evidenced-based treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD., at the University of Washington. In DBT, behavioral change is balanced with acceptance, compassion and validation.  I continue to receive training on advanced topics in DBT, mindfulness, and suicide prevention.
