Jennifer Palau, MSW, LICSW
Evidenced-Based Therapy
for Adults, Parents, and Older Teens
Welcome to my practice! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 30 years experience dedicated to helping adults, older adolescents, and parents reach their personal and parenting goals. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, I help people develop practical skills to manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, and create positive change in their lives. I see clients in-person and online.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I also provide parent training with SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions).

EDUCATION
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
My passion for helping people began with my undergraduate studies. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Fredonia in 1992, I received my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 1994. I am a Masters level Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker licensed in Washington (LW00008221), New York (LCSW 092705), and California (LCSW 20401). I have been licensed since 2001.
I am a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ through Behavioral Tech, LLC in Seattle, WA. DBT is an evidenced-based treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD., at the University of Washington. In DBT, behavioral change is balanced with acceptance, compassion and validation. I continue to receive training on advanced topics in DBT, mindfulness, and suicide prevention.
